Meet Megan

Workforce Challenge

Megan and her mother were homeless and living primarily in a temporary residence at a motel, and sometimes even outside. They were both looking for jobs and under financial hardship.

Workforce Solution

Megan got accepted into the Adams County Youth Succeed Program to help further her education and help her get a job to help out her mother with expenses. Megan also began a paid work experience with the county assisting with a human services team.

Outcomes & Benefits

Megan has been successful so far and has received her first paycheck. She used the money to assist with payment for staying at the hotel and now is more secure about her and her mother being able to continue to have housing. She has also used her wages to help pay for gas and continue to attend her work experience, which will help her gain skills to further her career. Megan has also been affected emotionally as the housing stability and work experience has helped her think about her future and what she wants to become.
