Meet Ted

Workforce Challenge

Ted does not have a computer at home and the town he lives in also lacks reliable internet service. Fortunately, Ted is able to use the job searching services of the Adams County Workforce & Business Center. These resources are a "God send". Ted has also experienced how difficult it can be to concentrate and stay motivated while looking for work by yourself at home, as the job search tends to feel like it becomes a job with no pay benefits. By spending his job searching time at the workforce center, his focus is better.

Workforce Solution

Ted began regularly coming in to the workforce center three times a week to use the workforce center's computers with Internet access, copiers, printers, and scanners. Ted was also able to enroll in a resume writing class as well as create a customized profile on the state's job searching site, Through effectiveness of this job database and the helpfulness the workforce center staff, Ted was able to find a production technician job. Ted was so successful, that he was also able to find a job for his son!

Outcomes & Benefits

Through his hard work and dedication, Ted offered a job and will start in mid-May 2015.
