Meet Frances

Workforce Challenge

Frances came into the Workforce Investment Act Youth Program as an inconsistently employed, out of school 21-year-old youth who was the custodial parent of a 7-month-old son. He wanted assistance in obtaining his Commercial Driver's License so he could "get a good paying job to support my son."

Workforce Solution

Shortly after enrollment into the WIA Youth Program, Frances was approved to attend US Truck Driving School.

Outcomes & Benefits

Frances completed truck driving school, received his CDL, and is now employed as a driver, with full benefits, earning $20.68/hour.
