Workforce Challenge

Angel was a single mother of two and working part time as a Certified Nurse Assistant when she decided that she needed to go back to school to further her knowledge and secure a higher paying job in the medical field. She contacted Workforce Essentials Career Center for tuition assistance that would help her meet this goal.

Workforce Solution

Angel applied for and was accepted into the Licensed Practical Nursing program at Tennessee Technology Center at Hartsville. During Angel’s training, the Career Center in Gallatin assisted her with mileage and childcare expenses. Angel also continued to work during her training and even found time to get married.

Outcomes & Benefits

Angel consistently made good grades and was always willing to work with her WEInc Career Counselor towards meeting her career goals. She graduated in August, 2010, with a very high GPA, and she is a 1st generation college graduate. Today, Angel is employed with Quality Care Health Center as a LPN.
