Meet Amelework

Workforce Challenge

Amelework came to the United States as a refugee. She wanted to learn English and complete high school. She was in 10th grade when she was enrolled into WIOA Youth Succeed program. She attended Hinkley High School in Aurora but had to transfer to Denver North when her family decided to move.

Workforce Solution

The WIOA Youth Succeed program provided supportive services throughout her high school days, and Amelework worked hard. She had a goal of being the first one in her family to graduate. Although she had to start at a new school and make new friends, Amelework stay focused on her school work.

Outcomes & Benefits

In May 2016, Amelework graduated from Denver North High School and is currently attending Red Rocks Community College.
