Meet Crisol

Workforce Challenge

Crisol was a young adult who wanted assistance finding a career pathway. She was working with the Denver County Workforce Center to earn her GED and wanted help exploring career options. She was interested in the medical field, but she was unsure of what occupation she wanted to go into.

Workforce Solution

Crisol was co-enrolled into the Adams County Workforce and Business Center WIOA Youth Succeed Porgram to help her get into a pre-apprenticeship program in the healthcare field through Central Colorado AHEC. The program paid the cost of the pre-apprenticeship training. After successfully completing the pre-apprenticeship program, WIOA funds helped pay for a paid work experience through the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, where Crisol was interested in working in an administrative position to get more experience in that area that would have transferable office skills for healthcare careers.

Outcomes & Benefits

Crisol successfully completed the healthcare pre-apprenticeship and earned credentials in Basic Life Support, CPR, Blood-borne Pathogens, HIPAA, and Youth Mental Health First Aid. She was exposed to the many different occupation and career paths in healthcare. She is now working at the Denver Metro Chamber gaining more administrative skills while she works on earning her GED and make plans for a career in healthcare.
