Meet Wade

Workforce Challenge

Wade was laid from a major aircraft company in 2010. His income was very limited and he struggled at times to make ends meet.

Workforce Solution

Because of his layoff, Wade qualified for the NEG program. Wade enrolled in a certificate program for non-destructive testing at WATC, but during his second semester, an Associate’s Degree was offered for the field. He was very eager to further his education and diligently worked with his Workforce Professional to enroll in the associate's program.

Outcomes & Benefits

Wade continued to job search during his training period and gained employment with a major aircraft company. He completed his program July 2011 and is still employed with the company as a M14A Process & Fabrication Inspector (NDT) making $17.47 per hour.
