Keri

Workforce Challenge

Keri had just finished her LPN classes when she started working with the Workforce Center. She lacked the financial resources to be able to pay for all appropriate tests, background checks, and fingerprinting that goes into getting an LPN License and to continue training to be a Registered Nurse.

Workforce Solution

Through the Kansas Health Profession Opportunity Project, Keri was able to get assistance paying for all the requirements of testing for her LPN license. This financial assistance relieved a lot of stress for Keri.

Outcomes & Benefits

Keri passed the LPN-NCLEX examination and was hired at a local healthcare facility as an LPN earning $17.50 per hour. This position will allow Keri to provide for her and her 6 children. Keri has also applied to the RN at Pratt Community College to continue her education.
