Workforce Challenge

Chet came to the Workforce Center after being laid off from his job making $11.50 per hour. Chet did not have a skilled credential making it difficult for him to obtain employment in today's competitive job market.

Workforce Solution

Due to his layoff, Chet qualified for funding through the National Emergency Grant as well as the WIA Dislocated Worker program. Chet enrolled in the Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic program with a local training provider.

Outcomes & Benefits

Chet completed training and obtained his skilled credential. He is now working for a local aircraft manufacturer as an A&P Mechanic making more than $15.00 per hour.
