Crystal thought her dream of becoming a nurse was about to be cut short. Commuting 80 miles round trip to attend school and with the rising costs of gas and tuition, Crystal didn’t think she would be able to complete the last year of her program. However, with the help of the Workforce Centers of South Central Kansas she found the way.

Workforce Solution

The Workforce Centers helped Crystal with tuition assistance and supportive services to eliminate the barriers she faced with commuting to school.

Outcomes & Benefits

Crystal is currently taking the state board tests to receive her LPN certification and will receive her RN in May 2013. The Workforce Centers helped her through a tough time and has given her the opportunity to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
