Meet Carolyn

Workforce Challenge

Carolyn became a Dislocated Worker when, beyond her control, the facility that she had worked at for over 6 years closed down. She really thought this would have been her retirement job but now she had to regroup. Carolyn still wanted to work with people but needed a career that is less physically demanding.

Workforce Solution

Carolyn needed to get back to work quickly and she didn't have years to attend training. The Medical Assistant Program was a 9 month program where she could still utilize her customer service skills and work with people. Carolyn progressed well with this program and maintained very good grades.

Outcomes & Benefits

Carolyn is now back to work in a field that she loves where she can really help people. She is working for a medical facility and taking great care of a woman, all while using all the skills she acquired during school. Carolyn was very thankful during her time in school for the WIA program so she could go back to school and get a credential she could use for the rest of her career.
