Meet Kent

Workforce Challenge

Laid off aircraft worker that did not learn about TAA/TRA benefits until after he missed the deadline to receive basic TRA or additional TRA Benefits. Kent came into the Workforce Center with just a very few weeks of unemployment left to receive. Kent did have a Associate of Applied Science degree in Cabinet Building. Kent requested training to attend truck driving school to obtain his CDL license.

Workforce Solution

Provided funding for training so Kent could earn his CDL license to drive a heavy tractor trailer.

Outcomes & Benefits

After Kent received his CDL license he obtained employment as a truck driver. Kent really loves the work he is doing, not just driving a truck but the company he went to work for is a company that makes a big difference in peoples lives everyday. It has been a very rewarding job for Kent.
