Meet Lewis

Workforce Challenge

Lewis was laid off from his job of 2 years in July 2012. He was working on completing his A&P Mechanic Program at WATC when he came to the Wichita Workforce Center for training assistance.

Workforce Solution

Lewis completed the WFC eligibility process and entered the training program in fall 2012.

Outcomes & Benefits

Lewis successfully completed his training program earning Airframe and Power Plant certifications and later his licenses. While in training Lewis was able to find employment as an Aircraft Assembler making $19 an hour.

However, Lewis recently gained employment in November 2013 as an A&P Mechanic making $20.63 an hour.
