Meet Robert

Workforce Challenge

Robert was an older laid off Aircraft worker who had been unemployed for 9 months and didn't see an end in sight. Though he had a Bachelor's degree in Industrial/Construction Management, he felt that employers were overlooking him because it was dated.

Workforce Solution

Robert didn't want to change careers. So, with the help of his TAA case manager, he decided that acquiring some new certifications could be the facelift his resume needed. Robert enrolled in the Program Management CMD program at Wichita State.

Outcomes & Benefits

Robert continually updated his resume with each certificate he earned. This led to him becoming a Quality Control Program Manager with a local company. Robert was given a company vehicle, gas card and phone along with full benefits. However, that wasn't all. Understanding that continuing his education was important to Robert, the company allowed him to continue his educational program as well.
