Meet Margareeta

Workforce Challenge

Margaretta was a laid off Aircraft worker who had been unemployed for over 7 months and was getting anxious about not being able to obtain employment. Margaretta only had a High School diploma and was thinking she needed to obtain a degree in order to be more marketable.

Workforce Solution

Margaretta researched training options and decided a career change, in her case to health care was needed. Margaretta was enrolled in online training at Hutchinson Community College with the help of the TAA program. Margaretta started struggling with the on-line courses and she obtained approval to attend in-classroom training to help with the courses.

Outcomes & Benefits

Margaretta continued working with her TAA Case Manager who helped her modify her training plan to obtain a technical certificate. Margaretta did very well with her in-classroom courses and was able to obtain her Medical Coding Certificate at the end of her training plan.
