Meet Stanley

Workforce Challenge

Stanley was a laid off aircraft worker who had several jobs earning minimum wage. Stanley was not making ends meet and had to sell his home and reside with his father. Stanley only had a high school diploma and was unable to obtain employment that offered a higher wage.

Workforce Solution

Stanley came to the realization that without further education he would not be able to obtain employment with a higher wage. Stanley met with a TAA Case Manager and researched training options. Stanley decided to attend the Heavy Equipment level II/Crane/CDL class A program from the Oklahoma College of Construction.

Outcomes & Benefits

Stanley was able to attend the Oklahoma College of Construction and they provided meals, transportation to and from the school and room and board. TAA was able to assist Stanley with subsistence reimbursement for travel and the meals that the school did not provide. Stanley is currently attending training and will graduate in 08/2014.
