Meet Sara

Workforce Challenge

Sara, recently returned from a tour-of-duty in Iraq, was seeking new career options for her future.

Workforce Solution

Sara met with Ronnette Purnell, LVER, and was given assistance with unemployment benefits, Maryland Workforce Exchange virtual online recruiter, and referral to the Veterans Administration counselor at Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury, MD, for training information. She started training at Wor-Wic Community College in January 2013 under the G.I bill. She plans on pursing an Associate’s degree in General Studies until she decides her final career path.

Outcomes & Benefits

The LVER will continue to follow up and provide case management to Ms. Bush while she is in training and transitioning to the workforce. Sara stated, "Wicomico One-Stop Job Market staff was great! I would recommend this service to any of the soldiers that I deployed with."
