Meet Nicole

Workforce Challenge

When Ms. Moffatt enrolled with the Liberty Workforce Development Center, she had recently completed an Associate’s Degree in Nursing at the Community College of Baltimore County Catonsville Campus in December, 2011. She was also employed as a nurse extern at Good Samaritan working 16 hours/week but she was determined to get the help she needed to pass her nursing licensure exam.

Workforce Solution

Nicole received Workforce Investment Act services under the Adult title and benefited from receiving both career counseling and training funding to take a nursing licensure exam review course.

Outcomes & Benefits

Ms. Moffatt successfully completed the course, passed the Maryland State board exam and received her registered nursing licensure. Nicole entered employment on March 22, 2012, working as a Registered Nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital working 36 hours/week. Ms. Moffatt’s hard work, diligence, and focused pursuit of her goal have all contributed to her success. With the support of Baltimore County Workforce Development, she was able to nearly double her salary and more than double her hours.
