Meet Joseph
Workforce Challenge
Joseph is 51 years old and married with a teenage child. He has a BA degree in History. Solid work experience included sales in construction industry and limited substitute teaching. Joseph wanted to use his previous gained skills and knowledge to find a career.
Workforce Solution
Veteran program, Wagner-Peyser, WIA and VWIP collaborated with Dislocated Worker and Veteran Joseph Brodell to help him find employment. He was referred to assessment, encouraged to participate in seminars. He was trying to decide between IT industry (Cyber), employment in federal arena and or CDL A. All areas partnered to develop a training plan funded through WIA for CDL A training at Hagerstown Community College.
Outcomes & Benefits
Throughout his training and assistance from the various programs, Joseph passed and obtained a truck driving job with JJ Taylor Inc, in Alexandria, VA on 4/30/2012.
