Meet Charese

Workforce Challenge

Charese Johnson was dislocated from her position at the City of Aberdeen in Harford County. She connected with the Susquehanna Workforce in Aberdeen, Maryland and met their encouraging and knowledgeable staff. During her first visit she was a little skeptical due to fears of being open about her present situation and future prospects. The Workforce Center staff provided her opportunities to prepare for her next job. Charese attended training courses that would benefit her in so many ways.

Workforce Solution

Charese Johnson attended workshops at the Susquehanna workforce Center to improve her job search techniques. To support her goal of obtaining a Federal Government position the SWN supported her training through Harford Community College that lead to Project Management Certification course, Intermediate Microsoft Excel computer course and Intermediate Microsoft Access computer course.

Outcomes & Benefits

The training, better prepaed Chareses for a Federal Government job in the Accounting and/or Finance field. Due to the course that taught the important details of preparing a resume that tailors what Federal agencies are seeking, helped her gain Federal employment. She was aforded the opportunity of two Federal Government job offers. The job offers were from Aberdeen Proving Ground Post and the Corporation for National Community Services.
