Ms. Brown is an ex-offender that was initially provided services via the Mobile Career Center,(MCC) on May 1, 2013 and May 8, 2013 at the Baltimore County Detention Center,(BCDC). Venita Bocage facilitated the Re-entry Information, (RIS) session on May 1st. Venita imparted essential information to the group, to assist them with transitioning back to society. Anthony sent Ms. Brown information on a Customer Service Representative position at Transparent BPO. Ms. Brown was thrilled to hear of the job opening so Anthony tailored her résumé to speak to the position and helped her prepare a cover letter to submit via e-mail. Ms. Brown submitted the aforementioned documents and was hired by Transparent BPO; she started training on September 26, 2013. Ms. Brown wants to continue to stay employed with Transparent BPO and expressed interest in getting more training, when she was onboard the MCC in May.

Workforce Solution

Ms. Brown contacted case manager Anthony Smith from the Baltimore County Workforce Development Center via e-mail September 3, 2013 and indicated that she had been released from BCDC and requested assistance with her employment search. She visited the center where she was provided assistance with résumé development, cover letter development, job search advice, MWE tutorial, and ex-offender assistance. She was assisted with MWE re-enrollment (she was previously in the system), completion of MWE background fields, and résumé development. She was taught how to utilize the MWE system as well as The Workforce Center for her search and her case manager, Anthony would send her opportunities that matched her skill sets.

Outcomes & Benefits
