Workforce Challenge

Mr. Gebhardt was a former LaFarge employee who was training for a new career in HVAC. He worked with Case Manager Dana Williams who provided him with Transportation, résumé and interviewing assistance, and job referral.

Workforce Solution

After working at the Workforce Center Mr. Gebhardt was able to produce a high performance resume, was more comfortable with interviewing and was given transportation reimbursement, which made it easier to gain interviews. Mr. Gephardt received one-o-one résumé, job search, interviewing assistance with me. He also received transportation assistance, for the first two weeks of employment.

Outcomes & Benefits

Dana discussed with him his transferable skills and suggested he pursue other positions. Mr. Gephardt was recalled by his former employer, Lafarge. In the future, Mr. Gebhardt plans to complete high school and/or college, complete training program, get job, start an OJT program, conduct a mass recruitment, engage in incumbent worker training, etc. He also plans to retain employment at LaFarge as an equipment operator as well as continue to pursue a career in HVAC
