Meet Bill

Workforce Challenge

Bill was laid off from R.G. Steel in May 2012. He came to the Eastpoint Workforce Center on September 14, 2012 to obtain assistance under the Trade Adjustment Act.

Workforce Solution

Bill met with a Trade Counselor and expressed an interest in upgrading his skills. He was scheduled for the math and reading assessment tests and tasked to conduct labor market research in his field of interest. Bill scored very well on his assessment tests showing he was ready to begin a training program. His long term goal and interest was the solar heating field. His short term goal was to obtain HVACR training.

Outcomes & Benefits

Bill decided to attend All State Career School for his training. He earned excellent grades and successfully completed the program in March 2013. Bill has obtained employment as a refrigeration technician in Maryland.
