Meet Frederick

Workforce Challenge

Mr. Frederick Hipp was laid off from RG Steel after employment as an Assistant Blast Furnace Operator for over six years in the fall of 2012.

Workforce Solution

At the Eastpoint Workforce Development Center he met with Ms. Heptinstall and Ms. Kymbriti of NEG staff who helped register him in the Maryland Workforce Exchange and sign up for Career Scope assessment testing. There was an overview of Trade Readjustment Act program by DLLR Job Service Specialist by Dan Withey and training options were discussed with Mr. Withey.

Outcomes & Benefits

In early 2013 Mr. Hipp’s job search quest had proven successful! He cancelled his training options with Mr. Withey as he had obtained employment as a Classified Laborer with GAF Corporation with possible benefits. This job allows him to excel due to his extensive heavy manufacturing experience.
