Meet Cassandra S.

Workforce Challenge

Cassandra graduated from college in May 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology. Cassandra was unemployed and seeking employment, but she was also interested in pursuing training to enhance her employment marketability.

Workforce Solution

Cassandra’s résumé was critiqued and it was suggested that revisions be made to the document. A revised a one page resume was created for Cassandra with emphasis placed on developing the upper third section of her résumé, to effectively convey her education / relevant coursework to prospective employers. Cassandra has been consistently utilizing the Workforce Development Center at the Liberty Center, the Maryland Workforce Exchnage (MWE), as well as other resources for her job search. Cassandra participated in the June, Toyota Financial recruitment at the Workforce Development Center at Hunt Valley. Cassandra was referred to WIA Intensive Services concerning training.

Outcomes & Benefits

Cassandra received and accepted an offer this August, from Baltimore County Public Schools as a Permanent Substitute Teacher. A decision is still pending regarding WIA training.
