Meet Fredica

Workforce Challenge

Fredica W. had recently completed Medical Assistant training and was interested in employment within the healthcare industry. She was referred to the Baltimore County Workforce Development Center for résumé assistance, by another customer that had received help previously at the Liberty Center. Ms. W. was unemployed and needed assistance in aligning her newly acquired skills with her transferrable skills from her many years of experience working in the federal government.

Workforce Solution

Although Fredica had 10 years’ of experience within the federal government, her résumé needed to be adjusted to fit employment in the healthcare industry. She had previous healthcare industry experience, prior to her working for the federal government. Her résumé was revised and refocused on her recent training, education and credentials as well as her completed externship. Additionally, profile statement was tailored to reflect her transferable skills from her experience within the federal government.

Outcomes & Benefits

Fredica received and accepted an employment offer in September with the Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) as a Medical Secretary through Symphony Staffing.
