Meet Earl...

Workforce Challenge

Mr. Earl B. could no longer perform his duties and decided he needed CDL-B license training for a new career as a Commercial Driver.

Workforce Solution

At the Job Center, he received resume and computer assistance as there was a level of discomfort in working with computers. Earl participated in the Center's Professional Development Seminar taught by The Community College of Baltimore County, Computer Essentials for the Job Search Process. In addition, he was given information to practice his computer skills at home through gcflearnfree.org. When he was unable to attend a Seminar at one of the Workforce Development Centers, Earl took basic computer training classes at a Baltimore County Public Library branch.

Outcomes & Benefits

By taking advantage of the resources that were available to him, not only did Earl become more comfortable using the computer, he began working for Amazon as a Driver after all!
