Meet Rocky Gap Casino Resort...

Workforce Challenge

Rocky Gap Casino Resort is challenged with filling a wide variety of jobs. The Casino participated in a large job fair hosted by the Allegany County One Stop Job Center in Cumberland, Maryland. Angella Moon, Business Services Consultant, met with the Casino Management team. She toured the facility encouraging them to hold a specialized event at the Allegany County One Stop.

Workforce Solution

A wide variety of jobs ranging from groundskeeping to upper level management were available. Current employment challenges were also considered. Therefore, an onsite recruitment was scheduled and subsequently invited area jobseekers and partner organizations.

On the day of the recruitment event, the jobseekers were assisted by Center staff to facilitate completion of the online job application.

Outcomes & Benefits

Rocky Gap Casino Resort expressed appreciation both on the employer survey forms and in verbal feedback for all the staff assistance. Casino representatives also expressed that this was the best job fair they had ever conducted and that most in attendance were first-time applicants. The Casino was even able to find candidates for hard-to-fill positions!

Five (5) employer representatives interviewed a total of 127 walk-in candidates during the 9AM-12PM recruitment. Rocky Gap Human Resources (HR) staff were especially grateful for the assistance provided by the Center staff to the candidates applying online which made the process operate much smoother.

Thanks again to everyone who assisted!
