Meet Candyse

Workforce Challenge

Candyse was unemployed and a resident at Sarah's Hope, Hannah More Shelter. She initially utilized Baltimore County American Job Center (AJC) services on the Mobile Career Center (MCC) in June 2016, at Sarah's Hope, Hannah More Shelter.

Workforce Solution

Hunt Valley AJC Assistant Center Manager, Anthony Smith, assisted Candyse with developing her résumé, creating Word and PDF résumé files, and posting the résumé documents in her MWE account. Anthony conducted a presentation for Hannah More shelter clients about opportunities available at Johns Hopkins Hospital (JHH). It was suggested that Candyse consider applying for positions at JHH and target food service positions as she has extensive food service experience, including staff supervision. Canydse also received employment opportunities via e-mail and guidance on the JHH application process.

Outcomes & Benefits

Hunt Valley AJC staff conducted on-site AJC services at Sarah's Hope, Hannah More, on July 19, 2016, where Candyse informed the staff that she was offered a position at Johns Hopkins Hospital's Food Services Department. Candyse began her position in August 2016 and she was thankful for the assistance that she received from DEWD AJC staff, with developing her résumé.
