Community Challenge/Problem

Maryland's Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation recognized the need for a web-based interactive tool designed to visualize data and patterns related to the supply and demand of Maryland's workforce, education, and training opportunities in the state.

Board Solution/Innovation

This dashboard was created for DLLR under the GeoDASH Initiative at Salisbury University. GeoDASH is an economic development initiative facilitated by the Business, Economic, and Community Outreach Network (BEACON), and the Eastern Shore Regional GIS Cooperative (ESRGC), in partnership with the Mid-Shore Regional Council and the Tri-County Council of the Lower Eastern Shore, and funded by the Economic Development Administration (EDA) of the U.S. Department of Commerce and the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development (DBED).

Outcomes & Results

A valuable interactive tool has been created, visualizing data and patterns related to supply and demand of Maryland's workforce, education, and training opportunities in the state. Data is incorporated from such sources as Maryland Workforce Exchange Virtual One Stop (MWE-VOS), Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC), and Division of Unemployment Insurance (DUI).
