Meet MVM Corporation

MVM’s Assistant Project Manager of Security Services for the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD, Steve Smith, called in early April seeking to hire professional, experienced security guards for MVM’s federal contract to provide secure facility services on-site at NIH.

Because MVM needed to fill a very large number of full-time and part-time positions, MontgomeryWorks recommended a series of combined Job Forum/ Recruitment events preceded by a preliminary advertising campaign designed to generate excitement among MontgomeryWorks’ 300 + workforce development partners and public falling in the right categories for pay scale, minimum requirements, and certifications for these positions.

On May 7, 2014, the first event surpassed expectations with an intake of 126 registered candidates for the initial Forum/Recruitment event. The second event, on May 14, scored even more candidate with an intake of 190 individuals, and 54 candidates returned on May 19 for follow up interviews.

All of the recruiters from MVM were very gratified with the turnout and with the quality of the majority of candidates. MVM is still in the process of final interviews and background checks but is confident they will be able to satisfy their hiring objectives from the Job Center’s recruitment campaign as indicated in the memo below from Steve Smith, the Assistant Project Manager for the MVM /NIH Security Services program.
