Scott is a long-time journalist in the Pikes Peak region who worked for the newspapers on the local military installations. These papers stopped production in 2022, leaving Scott in a
transitional career phase with other publications shutting down or reducing as well. This made for a challenging career situation for local journalists.
Workforce Solution
Scott came into the Pikes Peak Workforce Center as a result of a personal referral. Although he didn't meet eligibility for funded
programs, he used the coaching, résumé/interview services and other general resources provided through the workforce center.
Outcomes & Benefits
Scott researched alternative career options with the career coach and adjusted his résumé for copy and technical writing opportunities. As a result of Scott's work through the Pikes Peak Workforce Center, he successfully transitioned to an excellent new position as a technical writer with a local company.
