Workforce Challenge
Workforce Success Story Submitted By: Jefferson County Business & Workforce Center
Nataly needed assistance with tuition for her final class to complete her
BSN at Regis University. Nataly was unemployed and was having a hard
time finding employment in the health field due to the intensity of the
nursing program and concern that she would be leaving to find a job with
her degree.
Workforce Solution
Nataly worked with her career specialist on focusing to complete the BSN and
preparing to pass the RN-NCLEX by using career coaching and advising.
Nataly learned to self-market herself to employers via relevant job searches
and applications, creating resumes and cover letters to match selected job
postings, preparing for phone, face-to-face, and virtual interviews.
Outcomes & Benefits
While Nataly was preparing for the RN-NCLEX she applied to several RN jobs,
in various specialties. She received several interviews and offers for
employment. With the assistance of career coaching and counseling, she
considered the pros and cons of several jobs and accepted a full-time position
as an NICU-RN job at Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Hospital in Denver. She started
on 2/4/20, making $36.85 per hour.
