"In January 2011, we expanded our business to include a tractor assembly center. This expansion called for the immediate hiring of additional labor. The Employer-Based Training (EBT) program helped me to find available, trainable workers when I needed them. The payroll reimbursement is a benefit that has helped us out in these depressed times. Additionally, it has given us the confidence to hire workers that we may not have hired due to their lack of real experience in assembling agricultural equipment. The program gets them in the door and gives them the opportunity to train and acquire skills that they could not on their own. My family and I are grateful for the program. "KPAQ Industries and the Louisiana Workforce Commission's Business and Career Solutions Center started our partnership when we began the process of opening our doors. The Career Solutions Center does all of our pre-screening for hourly positions and some for salaried positions. We post our openings on their web site, and they collect resumes, do pre-screenings and a pre-employment screening for us. This allows us to reach larger numbers of candidates than we could if we tried to do this on our own.
